The deciding factor on which route to run the proposed bullet train is going to be money we suspect. As it sits there are two proposed routes being considered. However The Woodlands township has written a formal letter to TxDOT requesting the route of I-45 to be reconsidered. In a statement by James Maughan “TxDOT has narrowed the potential rail lines to include the Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail route near Hwy. 249 and a utility corridor near Hwy. 290, said James Maughan, environmental impact statement lead for the Federal Railroad Authority.” The population in Montgomery County is expected to rise from 500,000 to 1.1 Million by 2040, more than doubling our population.
